or why is my power bill $450 a month
End
Use Metering is a methodology employed to break down energy usage load-by-load,
minute-by-minute. In brief, we can determine where the power goes and when, in
exacting KWH (dollar) terms. Our reports provide a breakdown of exactly
how much you paid to run your HVAC system, how much you paid for hot water, to
cook, to run the pool, to water the yard, to light your property at night . . .
we can measure any specific load/device/appliance and tell you exactly
how much it cost to run. Of course we also monitor the mains to assure your
utility meter is accurate as well. Problems
can be identified and we’ll recommend actions that can and will reduce your
bill. The
procedure is straightforward; a current transformer is placed on each circuit
that is to be monitored. This may be a stand alone unit on say your
refrigerator, or the main logger with multiple feeds that we will place near
your electrical panel to monitor the mains, AC, hot water, pumps and other
loads. The equipment will be left for a month or more to collect data (in an
emergency or special circumstance we can provide data at shorter intervals, at
additional cost). Analysis
of the resulting data is done against temperature data from loggers that we
place in your attic, in conditioned space and National Weather Service Data for
cooling/heating degree-days to scan for irregularities in usage/consumption. Knowledge
is power and power is expensive nowadays. We
can provide you with specific knowledge of where the dollars you pay for your
monthly electric bill are going. |
